Fr. Bil preached about grief and joy in his homily today. A beautiful line that concludes today’s Gospel (Jn 16:16-20):
“You will grieve, but your grief will become joy.”
What a true statement. You know, God has a funny way of bringing joy to things that we dread or expect to be horrible. There are so many days when the alarm goes off and I want nothing more than to crawl back into bed. But very rarely do I, at the end of the day, regret getting up! That doesn’t mean every day has to be perfect, but it does mean that in the midst of what we think is bad, good happens.
All things work together unto good.
Let’s pray for those who don’t believe this–those who have lost hope.
