I reported in early March that I had been accepted as a seminarian with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. This was the first part of a two-part application process.

After acceptance to a diocese, a man must be accepted to a particular seminary. Of course, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis sends the vast majority of guys to St. Meinrad.

And so I’ve been waiting to hear from them concerning my application. I wasn’t worried.

But I am happy to share with you this letter:

  1. congratulations! i'll be down at st. meinrad oct 3-4th for my home parish's confirmation retreat. maybe i'll see you around.

also, if you meet dominic petan (he's in II theology) you should be friends with him. he is an *AWESOME* guy. he spent the summer at my parish last year.

  2. Oh yes… and don't listen to all of these blogs and writers. Be a “servant” and don't put yourself on a pedestal. We don't need “clerical” priests, we only need priests who love their priesthood and see themselves as being called by God to be a servant of God's people, which IS the Church.
