Fr. Etienne named Bishop of Cheyenne

A few moments ago I checked my email only to find a message from our rector.

As it happens, Fr. Paul Etienne has been appointed by the Holy Father to become Bishop of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Seems like he will be installed in this position in December.

Fr. Etienne is pastor of St. Paul’s in Tell City and does some spiritual direction at St. Meinrad. I am one of his directees–but I guess not for much longer.

I KNEW he was bishop material and this does not surprise me at all! Although I will be sorry to see him go!

Sure enough, Whispers in the Loggia has the scoop on this already.

Fr. Etienne’s sister, Sister Nicolette, has also made a post on her blog about this complete with an email from Fr. Etienne announcing the news to the family.

  1. Decided to to start commenting again. And I got to say that it is a good start as a seminarian to have a friend in a high place.
