First annual nun run

Today several of us woke up early to take part in the first annual nun run.

The main race event took place in Arizona, but there were “shadow runs” that took place all over the country. One was ours.

The reason for this nun run was to raise money to pay for a new monastery for the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration of Our Lady of Solitude in Black Canyon City, Arizona. But the purpose was also to raise awareness around the country of religious vocations and this particular order.

It was a good time. I’ve really taken to the practice of praying while running, which made even more sense at an event like this.

I finished in just under 32 minutes. Nothing too impressive but I was hurting!
