Visiting religious sisters

This morning I went to a conference at St. Mary of the Woods. I left at noon, at which point I explored some of the sights. There is lots to see!

I particularly enjoyed all the marble in the church and its outside beauty, the St. Ann’s Shell Shrine, the Lourdes grotto, the cemetery, and all the statues.

Pictures are posted on facebook here. I’ve posted some here on the blog below.

It’s a peaceful environment.

This evening I went over to the Carmelite sisters here in Terre Haute. I LOVE the sisters there! Full habits, gates still in use, and the community seems very healthy. It was nice to meet some folks after the Mass and it was good to see Fr. John Hollowell, who is spending this week on retreat there. Photos of this are below and more are located here.

Let’s pray for the sisters here in Indiana.

  1. I have to say my favorite part of their campus is easily the grotto. I really enjoy that part. I have only been there a couple of times, but I always have made a point to make a stop there.
