Daily homily thoughts 4/24

St. Faustina recounts these words from the Lord: “The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. Souls that trust boundlessly are a great confort to me….I rejoice that they ask for much, because it is my desire to give them much….” Our gospel today says we are to follow the Spirit, which blows as the wind wherever He wills. And we follow. It takes trust. We have a Jesuit staying with us in the rectory. His superiors gave him a bus ticket and $35 and said, “See you in a month.” He is going from place to place, relying on the help of strangers and on connections only the Lord can bring about. He came to Indy not knowing where he would stay. Of course our doors are always open, so here he is. What radical trust! God asks us to trust, to ask for much….to depend on him much….so he can give us much. What he gives us is better than what we give ourselves.
