Daily homily thoughts, 4/28

Today in the Acts of the Apostles we hear about Theudas and Judas the Galilean.  These two men were something else.  They must have been quite charismatic. They had quite the following….over 400 started to follow Theudas and who knows about Judas the Galilean.  Folks: We must be careful, careful never to follow a person. We follow Jesus Christ.  Everyone else will let you down.  Sometimes people get obsessed with some priest or pope or saint or some person we admire for his or her faith. But they will always let us down at some point.  We thank God we have good and holy people to inspire us, but our faith is not in them, and that’s a good thing because at some point or another they’ll let us down. But Jesus will never let us down.
