Today we celebrate the patron of St. Vincent de Paul Parish here in Shelbyville. The man is known for his charity and for reforming the clergy of his time to have the heart of Jesus. We have many local connections, this parish being one of them. Then, of course, we have all the St. Vincent de Paul societies around the diocese. Perhaps one day we will have one here. And St. Vincent Hospital on the north side, founded by the Daughters of Charity (an order that St. Vincent himself founded). May we be inspired always by this man’s charity!
