Daily homily thoughts, 3/5

Today’s gospel mentions a crowd of people who were “filled with fury.”  What a sad thing that is. But there’s a lot of folks who are filled with fury. Maybe it is on account of a past hurt, or politics, or some injustice, or a strong dislike. Who knows. But Jesus says cut it out. Because with all that fury, what these people do is drive Jesus away.  That is what our anger does.  Anger can destroy more than we can possibly imagine. And it has destroyed an awful lot of families, parishes, and souls.
