Daily homily thoughts, 3/16

Today we hear this from Wisdom: “The wicked said among themselves, thinking not aright: “Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings, Reproaches us for transgressions of the law and charges us with violations of our training.”  Often in a group of people you have the “really great one,” the one who seems to be closest to the mark. This person shows that excellence is possible. A lot of times people don’t like this person–and they try and tear him down.  Why?  Becuase this person’s example is summoning them to be something greater, and that would mean losing comfort.  Today we thank God for the really holy and great people in our lives and try and be more like them, instead of trying to bring them down.
