Daily homily thoughts, 7/10

In our Gospel today Jesus drives the demon out of a demonic man.  The crowds are amazed by what Jesus has just done, but the Pharisees will have none of it.  They say, “He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”  In life we will always have this situation, a shepherd and a fake.  There are the shepherds who we should trust, our parents, our clergy, and our church family.  But, there are the fakes who we must stay away from, the world’s celebrities, and society.  Now, I’m not saying there’s never been a bad parent or a good celebrity, but there are shepherds and fakes.  We must call upon God to find these people in our lives and give them all our trust, or all of our distance.
