Daily homily thoughts, 9/12

Today Jesus shares with us the beatitudes: “Blessed are you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh…..”  Notice how he says blessed ARE you…not blessed WILL YOU BE.  It’s a present tense situation. Maybe it’s ni these moments of poverty, hunger, weeping that we are most blessed.
