“There’s no grace to be had in living another life; there’s only grace to be had in living your own. Only the truth has grace, only the present has grace, only your hand has grace. So rather than lamenting that things did not transpire in a different way or pining after a future reality that may never come to fruition, it’s a matter of consenting to and cooperating with what God actually gives. And he gives people different things. To some, he gives great gifts of wisdom and insight; to some he gives gifts of administration; to some he gives gifts of prophecy….to all he gives something. And even if those gifts are humble, or even if those things are strange or weird, the Lord is going to use that because that’s what he has accorded.” Fr Gregory Pine OP
