One time, Graham Greene went on pilgrimage with his mistress… Catherine Walston….on pilgrimage and went to Mass at San Giovanni Rotondo in Italy….

Padre Pio was the celebrant….and after Mass, having seen Graham Greene or having had it revealed to him (by word of mouth or directly from God) that Graham Greene was in attendance….

Padre Pio invited Greene to visit with him afterwards, but he declined.

The quote attributed to him after that is kind of terrifying. He said:
