Jesus: “Do you love me more than these?”

What are the “these”???

Peter had been a fisherman, was called by Jesus, and now he’s gone back to the fishing again, to his old life….he’s got all his fish, his equipment….perhaps Jesus is looking at all that and saying: Do you love me more than all this? More than what you “gave up” for me?

Do we love Jesus more than the things we’ve given up for him? More than the things we think he’s calling us to give up for him? More than ANYTHING???
